Spojenie nekonvenčnej nutričnej terapie vitamínu C s doxorubicínom na podporu protinádorovej aktivity

Nádorové ochorenie predstavuje najčastejšiu príčinu úmrtia na celom svete, a to aj napriek neustálym pokrokom vo výskumnej a vývojovej oblasti. V experimentálnych terapeutických postupoch sa do popredia dostáva nutričná terapia s preukázateľnou schopnosťou minimalizovať škodlivý vplyv oxidačného stresu získaného pôsobením tradičnej chemoterapie či rádioterapie. Jednou zo skúmaných možností pre pacientov s diagnostikovaným karcinómom je parenterálna aplikácia vitamínu C známeho ako antioxidant, avšak v poslednej dobe sa deklarujú aj jeho prooxidačné- protinádorové účinky. V tejto štúdii sme sa zamerali na liečbu pokročilého karcinómu prsníka kombináciu doxorubicínu ako klasického a zároveň najúčinnejšieho chemoterapeutika v tejto indikácií s vitamínom C. Výsledky naznačujú potenciálny synergický antiproliferatívny účinok stanovený na bunkových líniách MCF-7 za použitia analyzátora RTCA. Bunky rakoviny prsníka boli vystavené rôznym koncentráciám vitamínu C (10 µM - 700 µM) spoločne s 1 µM doxorubicínom. Najnižšie koncentrácie (10 µM) vitamínu C s 1 µM doxorubicínom potvrdili antioxidačné pôsobenie askorbátu, inhibíciu rastu nádorových buniek preukázala koncentrácia  100 µM  vitamínu C a 1 µM doxorubicínu, najvyššie koncentrácie (700 µM) vitamínu C s 1 µM doxorubicínom reprezentovali vysoký cytotoxický účinok na MCF-7 bunkové línie.
